Our area of expertise: Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)

Our particular expertise lies in the processing of thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU). This high-performance technical material is characterized by its exceptional combination of elasticity, mechanical strength and chemical resistance. Especially in the injection moulding process, TPU offers ideal conditions for the economical production of complex and highly functional components that must withstand the highest loads over the long term.

Thermoplastics in detail: A selection of our materials

Thermoplastic elastomers are flexible plastics that are elastic and moldable at the same time. TPU is one of these materials and offers, among other things, high cut, tensile and tear resistance as well as good abrasion values.

ABS is characterized in particular by its good weather and UV resistance as well as its low water absorption. If plastic components are to be painted, it is recommended to use ABS.

ASA is characterized by its excellent weather and UV resistance as well as low water absorption. It is therefore primarily used for outdoor housings and cladding.

ASA ABS agricultural housing

PA offers excellent strength properties combined with high toughness and stiffness. It has excellent impact resistance as well as good abrasion and wear resistance and is particularly dimensionally stable, which enables low-distortion component production.

Polyamide agricultural component

PC is characterized by good toughness and stiffness. The material offers high dimensional accuracy and dimensional stability and is the ideal choice for transparent components.

PC polycarbonate

PE offers high stretchability and good chemical resistance. It is temperature-resistant, has high toughness and elongation at break and has good electrical insulation properties.

Polyethylene rolls

POM combines good sliding and abrasion properties with good strengths and strong resilience. It is very flexible at low temperatures, resistant to chemicals and hydrolysis and absorbs hardly any water.

Polyoxymethylene moldings

PP is characterized by its high stretchability, chemical resistance and very low density. It is ideal for lightweight applications that focus on reducing weight.

Sustainability in practice: Our recycling concept for TPU

Together with our parent company GRIMME, we have developed a concept for recycling screening and sorting stars made of TPU. After being used in potato harvesters, the components are returned, processed into high-quality granulate and reused in our production for new components. In this way, we close the material cycle and save valuable resources.
