Difficult processing – excellent performance

Hot-casting technology

Internorm stands for quality in plastics processing. Our up-to-date plant for polyurethane vulcanisation enables us to produce high-quality cylinders, rollers and cast parts.

In hot casting the material and the moulds have to be preheated. The process makes use of fluid reaction mixtures at temperatures of about 100°C which are cast in open moulds. The parts cure naturally and can then be removed from the moulds. By varying the raw materials and the formulations, Internorm is in a position to adjust the properties of the final product to meet specific requirements.

The excellent mechanical properties of our plastics open up a wide range of applications. Internorm polyurethane hot-casting elastomers are used for engineered parts in mechanical engineering and many other fields.
Using this technique, Internorm produces rollers and wheels, screen elements for the building materials and mining industries, attenuation elements, vibration elements, cylinder coatings and much more besides.

Hot-cast products exhibit extremely good wear resistance, very high tear and tear propagation strengths, good resilience and excellent resistance to swelling due to oils and greases; they are also biologically degradable. Hot-casting technology enables us to offer a hardness range from 20° to 90° Shore A. The products retain their good properties over a temperature range from -35°C to +80°C, and even up to +120°C for brief periods

The personnel of the hot-casting department deal with numerous compositions and processes every day. Many variable moulds, especially for cylinders and rollers, are available so that we can manufacture some products for you without incurring any costs for mouldmaking.

A hot business!
